Cams....
I am curious as to the drawbacks and whatnot of the diffrent types of cams. Solid/Mechanical, Hydraulic, Roller and Flat. What kind of precautions or high maintanance has to be executed?

Anythnig in a solid lifet , will require a bit of attention . You need to keep setting lash . I am not sur eof the intervals but , it's just more maintenance .
Hydraulic ... need to be set once then forget it
. You can make nice hp with hydraulic cams , but top performaers liek the solid units .
Roller is superior to flat tappit . For obvious reasons ( less friction ) . Also you can have a more agressive ramp rate with a roller setup .
..Thers is ALOT mroe on this but I just thought I'd toss up a few tidbits of infor for you to maybe do a key word search on it.
also try that website called how it works .com
