91 Formula Vs 350 RWHP truck
ok a little history... so before i installed my headers i raced this guy in a somewhat built F-150(short cab, short box if they make em? it was a small F-150)... he's putting down 354RWHP and 392FT-LBS of TQ.... Turbo Build 5.4 (low compression, Turbo Cams.... but currently running N/A)
My car is a 1991 Firebird Formula...305 TPI, 5spd,3.42 Rear
at the time my mods were a custom CAI,Ported EGR walls, Quarter in the FPR (bump FP about 4-5 PSI) Throttle Body Bypass, and 10 degrees base timing, back seats removed along with jack and spare tire....
well that race he beat me by about 4 car lengths....
ok now a couple of nights ago we got to line up and race again this time i had all the mods above but a fully ported plenum (the wall things between the runners knocked down... about an inch into the runners siameesed, 12 degrees base timing, AC removed, Cruise Control Removed, AIR tubes and lines removed, Long Tube Headers....
now when we raced i somewhat spun in first gear and he pretty much hooked and went (me on street tires, him on drag radials)...right after i got traction i'd say i shot up and had my nose at his back bumper... shift to 2nd and im in the same spot but slowly creeping up to where the top of 2nd bottom of 3rd my nose is now at his door.... at the top of 3rd were basically dead even... and as i shift to fourth i start to slowly creep away... his front bumper is now around my doors through most of 4th and now towards the top of 4th and shifting to 5th i have about a carlength and putting some more on him... so we both stopped....
i think i may run into him again this weekend and see if he's up for a rematch on a better road where i can hook alot better and see if i can jump him out of the hole and put lengths on him the whole way.... anyways he has a very nice truck... its built for a turbo setup (no turbo yet) but currently it runs 13.6's @ 99mph(he said he was having issues in the top end while at the track he was on pump gas at the track but race gas when we raced)... so i wonder if my little 305 with pretty much free mods and headers would be bringing home 13 seconds time slips if i could get her to the track before the season ends...

The time in my sig is with about 350RWHP, prolly a lil more. I was running on 20s (70lb wheel/tire combo) and had all my tools in the tool-box and ****...
Beat a couple third-gens that night at the track (and a fourth-gen guy too, he was like WTF). Hopefully I'll make a few mid 12 second passes this year...
