Will this K&N setup work on my car?

I wanna know, If I can take my K&N TPI Filter (the one with the chrome on it) and stick it right on the throttle body, like ive seen some ppl do on this site, you know, how on stock cars there's plastic tubing from the throttle body to the stock air box, on my car the air box is gone and there's the TPI filter in it's place.

Will that work under my stock hood?
Is there any good or bad effects in doing this?

Im going mainly for looks, and to get rid of that ugly plastic tubing.

If you need to know what it looks like, look for altor's post in this link,

Some will say yes, others will say no.
You ask whether it will work, yes it will, but it will be detrimental to the engine's performance when the engine bay temperature is markedly higher than outside temperature. That is a physical fact, but there are some who say it won't affect engine performance at all.
If you don't like the stock air box then find a method to get fresh air into the filter that appeals to you, but if looks are what you're after then by all means stick that cone on the end of the TB.

Try it anyway. It's free to try, and if you dont like it, you can put it back. Sure, you'll probably loose some power, but chances are it won't be enough to notice.
