hi, i have a 85 tpi camaro, dont know wat type of alternater i need cuz i dont have the orginal? is there any down side to using a alternator that puts out alot of amps, like 200 amps? will i frie my electrical system?

Transmission: T10, hurst shifter
Axle/Gears: 10 bolt, true-trac, 3.73
down side? huge $, perhaps burning out faster.

If you just need a stock motor, a junkyard or partstore alt for your car is what you want.

If you want higher output, you can try going to a CS144, or a powermaster aftermarket style alternator, but only if you have a huge stereo, or other electrical gizmos added.
