Mechanic wanted in Utah...

Don't know where else to post this; No "general" board. No "Western" board (just "Pacific", "west coast" {aren't those the same??}, and SOUTH west). And the Classifieds didn't really seem to fit either.

Anyway, I'm looking for a good tech for a FTYR position at The Canyons Ski Resort in Park City, UT. Good pay, awesome Vacation/Benefits -especially if you ski or ride. Expected to perform PM, Diagnotics and Failure analysis on everything from snowmobiles on up to $300,000, 350hp/1200 lb-ft snowcats. Cool stuff. Must be versitile, willing to work outside, and be self motivated. If interested, please email tkendrick@thecanyons.com or call 435-615-3320 and ask for Tom.

If this would be better off in the classifieds, please move.

Like where? This place is loaded w/smart, mechanically inclined folks, and actual mechanics. If someone that lives in UT reads this and wants a very cool job, then it would seem that it is the perfect place to put this. Unfortunatly I couldn't find a catagory that it fit under properly. I knew someone here would have a 'problem' w/it though.

Have you read the rules for the forums?

I'm a little shocked mods haven't locked this already.

Why not a classified ad in utah?

I've been paying $360.00 per week to post in the Deseret News -the biggest paper in Salt Lake- for about 3 months. I've given 3 interviews from that source, and all three were good interviews, followed by poor references (!).

This post should be a BENEFIT to any UT board memeber who reads it. Why does it upset you?

I haven't read the rules since I joined...6 years ago. You'll have to forgive me for not remembering all of them, but I've been a pretty decently behaved member for the last 6 years. Sorry if this thread offends you.

I didn't mean to come across as a jerk, but I don't think this is a good method of trying to find a mechanic in Utah. You'll find a ton of 3rd gen enthusiasts from across the globe, but not what you're looking for.
I figured classified ads, or better yet, monster, would be a good method.
I guess there aren't a lot of Utah members on here...?

The "Southern Rockies" Board is suppose to cover Utah. I suggest making a similar post there.

I personally think it's a clever idea posting for a Mechanic on an Automotive Enthusiast site. Many guys, even if not a qualified/certified mechanic; are mechanically inclined and "self-learners".

And some actually enjoy working on cars

Exactly what I was thinking. Thanks Glenn.

Guys who have interest, inclination, and work ethic are easily trainable, and great candidates.
