pulling engine without emptying air conditioning???
My engine needs to be pulled out of the car for a rebuild.
I would like to keep my a/c as it works very well, however what is it freeon? the old stuff... is illegal in canada, cant buy it.
Is there any way to pull the engine without having to disconnect the a/c unit? Or am i saying goodbye to a/c because im not going to bother having it converted.

it's no prob at all, all you have to do is un-bolt the compressor, and leave the hoses attached, DO NOT losen the bolt that holds the hoses to the compressor, and lay the compressor off to the side, being careful not to kink the hoses, not much more to it

You can always get it converted to r-134a for about $50 in the event you vented the r-12 into the atmosphere... although I wouldn't vent it intentionally
