Changing pushrods to one peice design

I just purchased new pushrods for my 355 rebuild. The original pushrods that came withe the motor when I got it, had ball ends with an oiling hole. I just bought one peice comp cams high strength pushrods, I should've asked before I bought them. I'm just not sure if there will be any problems with using them. I don't see why there would be. I have a hydraulic roller comp cam. I don't know the specs on it, but it has a .500/.510 lift.

Also, I have world sportsman II heads with comp cams guide plates, does anyone know if the guide plates are adjustable? I'm not sure. thanks

The pushrods are of high quality and will work just fine. They are among the strongest. There maybe a little adjustment in the guide plate. Loosen the studs bolts and see if it is enough.

Did you make sure to use a pushrod length checker before you ordered your pushrods? Using aftermarket heads or different head gaskets can change the pushrod length required. Stock for a hydraulic roller block is 7.200", and stock for a hydraulic non-roller is 7.400".

Now you've got me thinking. I just took one of the pushrods to a machine and had them measure it. I'm reusing the cam and lifters that were in the engine. I just realized I went with a higher performance fel-pro head gasket. I hope it didn't change the height. I'm new to this, this was the biggest job I ever did on a car engine. I put new rings and bearings in the block, and i'm trying to do everything the right way. The machine shope checked everything for me, except bore. The person that built the motor was a cheap moron. Surprisingly it ran good, I just wish it was a 383 like he told me.

The head gasket wont make enough of a difference to worry about, just make sure it at least matches what was in there.
