help stop my crank
I am installing a new harmonic balander on my iroc. I have the old one off but when i try to remove the tool from the end of the crank..... you guessed it . The crank turns. Is there another way to stop this without wedging something in the flywheel?

Got an impact? It should hit it hard enough to free it.
Just the long bolt is still there?
If u have both the nuts on it you can try locking them together and trying to turn it that way or get them locked and use a wrench and hammer to shock it.
Borrow an elec impact, might work might not.
Or just chock the flywheel.

the pull bolt with the flanged nut is still on there. the balancer is off the crank but won't fit over the flanged nut. if i back the nut out all the way, i still have no way of stopping the crank from turning.

Get a flywheel turning tool and pull the inspection cover from the front of the bottom of the tranny, let it bind against the tranny case in the direction you're turning the front of the motor.
