Centerbolt valve covers for guide plates

yea this looks like a good place for it, i picked up a set of 081 tpi heads that have been worked by sch racing heads, got em cheap they were like 1400$$ heads, car is on its way to teh shortblock so i'm masking em of tonight along with the edelbrock manifold to shoot now in 6 hours and i go to toss a set of old valve covers on em so i dont have to mask the top of the heads and the valve covers wont clear the guide plates, the "cross members" catch the plates, will a tall valve cover solve this, i have like 3/8" gap i have to close between the head and the covers

Who is running guideplates on centerbolt heads and what covers clear em, i would rather not pay the money for the damn adapter and then a set of perimeter covers.....adn some pics

I cut out the inboard halfs of the "crossmembers" and was able to install my stock center bolt valve covers on my 083 heads (with guide plates).
It's been running that way for a couple of years, no leaks yet.

I have the gm (proform) tall black crinkle (also available in chrome) part # 141-131 for my center bolt heads. The inside of the valve cover is completely cleared for wider rocker arms, guide plates etc.

ok thats what i was wondering if the aftermarkets are cleared inside or not, i am running the stock ones chromed and they have those crossmembers, i'm looking into the tall jegs covers probaly the plain not milled ones, i might have to run to my local rod shop and take a look see.......gives me a good excuse to go look at toys, i need real high chrome high luster covers, i got my manifold painted to day, black with clear and it is so ridiculously SCHWING, i figure whats 100 or so bucks to match the look,

any one running the jegs tall valve covers????
