6.75 inch balancer, which one to buy
I'm going to buy a new balancer, i'm just not sure if my engine is internally balanced, i'm almost positive it is. It's an 87 and up block with a stock crank rods and aftermarket pistons. I wanted to get peoples opinions on which balancer to buy. It' doesn't have to be sfi approved. thanks
Parts store replacement will do fine. Your engine is mostly internally balanced (flexplate/flywheel has a little counter-balancing on it, but not the balancer). No small block except the old 400 ever had a counter-balance weight on the balancer.

probably want an 8" balancer for a 350. or else make sure your timing tab matches it.

It had this size on it, so i'm not going to change it. I didn't even know I could change the size with no dangerous affects.

hmm, ok. usually that's the 305 size. whichever you like I guess, the timing tab would match it, so if it had a 6.75" one, then yea, might as well stick with it.

I remember the guy at the machine shop telling me it was a 305 crank, which I didn't even know would fit into a 350 block. The person told me it was a stroker. I didn't know any better, it felt quick to me.

ok, then finally i'll give an opinion, I got a summit brand non-sfi one, $59-61 depending on 6 3/4" or 8". It's basically a stock replacement, but has timing marks up to 60* BTDC, which is really handy, since I don't have a dial back timing light.
