got some big problems

on my 85 305 tpi, il start by saying that the car is not starting , the motor hasnt be started in about 5 years, it looks brand new on the out side, but iv blowen enough motors to know thats not the case inside, i pulled the #1 sparkplug and found some minor rust , pulled the remaining 7 plugs and found the same thing, some not as bad as others. put a break over bar on the crank and it wont turn , any other time i would have trashed the motor a LONG time ago, but it was running when i stored it. is the any way to save this motor at my house, if so, how, if not, where do i go, and how much do ya think. i have a spare motor, 305 tpi just for situations like this, but i like saving those for when a rod comes threw the block. PLEASE HELP

Sounds like it needs to come apart.

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Shoot some PB Blaster into each spark plug hole; at an angle to where it will get to the entire circumference of every cyl.

Let it sit for a day or 2. Then use a crank socket NOT THE DAMPER BOLT!!!!!! to try turning it by hand.

Once it breaks loose, spin it for a bit with the starter; then put the damper back on and the plugs back in, and crank it up. Should be fine once it gets going.

squrrel ****/wd-40 basically, just a bit stronger version of it.

I have also used brake cleaner and ATF to bust loose engines that were rust-ceized.

ok, so i spray the pb blaster into each cyclender, than let it sit, than try to bust it loose? does the pb blaster and loose rust not cause a problem when the engine turns over and starts the first time?

I wouldnt worry about it, its probably some of the better stuff thats been through the motor!

But if you want to do this 'right' you should pop the heads and clean it out.

the last motor I had to break loose was a 4.6 ford in a crown vic ran with no oil, pulled the spark plugs filled the cylinders with atf let it sit over night got it loose with a breaker bar spun the crank over a few times till it bound on a broken rod got it unjammed. then I started it and ran it until the rod came out the oil pan.

so a little rust on the cylinder walls should be easy.
