AIR hook ups, TBI different than TPI?

I'm looking at my Pacesetter headers and the hookup for the driver side has the screw type connector facing up, whereas the stock manifold screw type faces the firewall. Now these headers are for low output motors like the TBI, so my question is are the AIR hookups different between the tbi and the TPI?

I bought SLP headers with the A.I.R. manifolds and they also point straight up. I bought brass 90s at a local hardware store so that the check valves face the firewall.
