70's blocks
ok i have heard that engine blocks from the mid 70's had problems with the starter holes that were machined back to far. i think i have that problem cause i have a 75 block when i went to put the starter on it was to far away from the flexplate i could fit prolly 3 paper clips in between the flexplate and starter teeth. i was woundering would a mini starter work or would i have to get a special starter thanks.

are you trying to put an aftermarket starter on there, thats why its not working?
