89 iroc 5.7 wont start
when i went to take my iroc out of storage, of course the battery was dead. when i tried to jump it it would not do anything. no clicking, no nothing. all the gauges worked, the stereo works, headlights worked when cables were connected. is there a factory security enginge kill?? the previous owner is deceased and his father didn't know much about the car. what is VATS??? i have read on some sights about this and it sounds like the problem i am having.

If its VATS, when you try to turn the engine, the brake light will come on. Atleast thats how it is on my GTA. The brake pedal might be stiff also. If thats the case, you might need to check the wires going to the lock cylinder. It's two yellow wires that plug into the lock cylinder and they run down through the steering column where they hook into two individul wire connecter things to another set of two yellow wires.

Is your security light coming on? Staying on or turning off after a few seconds?

Yes, try to manually jump it with a start button. It might be your neutral safety switch as well. If that is faulty, the car wont start as it doesnt know if it is in park or not basically.
