Really should have let the RTV cure before you put the intake on.

I've never let RTV cure before exposing it to fluids. In fact, every day when I do tranny or diff services the RTV has a whopping minute to cure until there is some sort of fluid behind it. No leaks yet.

The problem with the intake is the pressure, not necessarily the fluids. Most (probably all) motors have some "blowby" - this crankcase pressure will blow out the seal if the RTV hasn't dried and cured - I just finished my 4th intake install in as many months (kept having oil leaks), all because I wasn't letting the RTV cure enough.

This last time, I let it dry for 2 hours BEFORE I installed the intake. THEN, I let it set up overnight BEFORE I started the motor at all. That sucker finally sealed! BTW - I didn't use the stupid rubber china wall gaskets either.

I also heard to do like Stekman said, and let it dry BEFORE installing the inatke at all - but I also was told if you do this, to also add more RTV when installing intake, and tighten it down, THEN again wait overnight before starting car - a 2 day process basically.

LET IT DRY!
