I own an 85 trans am w/ a tpi 305 and 132000mi.. when that motor goes i want to swap it out for a 350. id like to go with a crate engine 4 bolt main 350.

1. which 350 crate should i use?
2. can i swap the original tpi system along with the intake from my old 305 motor onto the new 350?
3. and if the tpi swap is posibble can i supercharge it all with a charger thats made to work with stock 5.7 350 tpi?

 

What sort of boost would you be looking at?

If its anything thats going to be worth the cost of the supercharger you shouldnt be running just any joe blow crate motor.

Your going to need to find a supercharger specific motor with a forged bottom end and dished pistons if you want it to hold up for a long time. Or better yet go through the experience of building an engine from the ground up!
