Ive got a 88 gta which had a 350tpi. The 350 spun a rod. Ive purchased a 305tpi complete. The 305 is a 85 or 86, It has the older type intake. I installed the 305 in the gta and now it starts for about 2 seconds then stalls. Its been like this for a while now. Last august I posted a message and got some good feed back. I checked the wiring, changed the computer to a 305 one and checked fuel pressure, all good. I took the trottlebody,distributar, and the pulley setup off the 350 and transferred it to the 305. I had to put it on the side since then for family reason and lack of time. I now have the time and Im thinking of just putting a carb. on it just to get it running, but i just cant seem to start riping it apart just yet. I really want to keep the tpiI. I was thinking of changing the injectors from the 350 to the 305, do I need to or will the 305 ones work? Is there a special way to reset the computer? There is one sensor for the second fan in the passenger side of the block just above the starter that was not in the 305. I did not put that in yet, Its still unplugged, could that be the reason? One thing I noticed is that when it starts and i try to give it gas to keep it running it doesnt do anything, but then it wont start at all, i have to let it sit for a little bit then it will start again then stall. I would really appreciate any help. thank you.

 

throwing any codes? I would try and keep all the 305 stuff for the 305 ( injecotors , Knock sensor ,etc) . You didn;t need the TB from the 350 or the dizzy , I don't think .

 

try putting in a new diaphram for the fuel press. regulator.old one probably has a hole in it.hope this fixes it jimmy
