Oil pan problem.... Pics Needed...
I have a hedman header, and hedman y-pipe setup.
I have a pre-79 block, with driver side dipstick.
My problem is that when i tried to attach the y-pipe the oil pan was in the way, like a huge amount. i needed a good half an inch of clearance.
We tried beating the oil ban, used a 4lb hammer, and no clearance could be made, we feared we'd break the break.
What is the problem here, its the stock pan that came on this motor in 75. It doesn't have any fitment problems otherwise. Why is it hitting my oil pan?
Is there an oil pan i can buy thats cheap to work?
Are 82-92 f-body oil pans different in this fact?
Please post pics!
Very confused and on a time delema, need the car running..

I've got the heddman headers and y with a stock pan and no problems. What car did the oil pan you've got come from?

70's camaro...
big starter, big flexplate, fortunately, i had few issues with that grinded metal from the starter to make them fit...
My oil pan, it just felt like i'd be brekaing the metal if i hit it much harder, Might split the metal...

which headers?
I have the 68470's I think, stock pan on a '78 block I believe. Just lowering it into the bay, (many clearance issues!), but the oilpan/headers aren't an issue....
you don't have the headers swapped on opposite sides eh?

pretty sure having a header on thw wrong side is impossible.
my engine fit in there very easily, headers were bolted onto the block and all.
I think i may have found a cure, but my fingers are still crossed.
I'll be letting ya'll know..
