continuing the EST saga
i did some more testing on my est problem, the car boggs and popps under heavy throttle and the tach spazzes out when the est bypass is plugged in, runs like a champ with it unplugged. i heard that the white est wire at the distributor gets 5 volts upon FULL ADVANCE. so i hooked up a multimeter on it...at idle it surges between about 1.8-2.6 volts and the tach surges with it... and revved her up....3 volts...ok..maybe there needs to be a load, i put the multi meter on my windshield and floored it across the parking lot at work...about 3.7 volts and the voltage surges when the tach surges? possibly a bad computer? i had to repair a partially melted plug at the computer, i smelled burning plastic one day, and the car stopped working, melted right at one of the ground wires, also the car makes a loose change clicking like noise, which isnt as bad on high test gas....but it did it on my last motor too, and since im only running with my base timing now, i dont think its detonation
