wiring on the back of the heads question...

Engine: 305 TPI
Transmission: 5 speed
Axle/Gears: 3.08 Posi 10 Bolt w/ aluminum drums
wiring on the back of the heads question...
on the back of both heads there is wiring and ground straps.
there is also a stud with a hex head half way up the stud used to retain the wiring.
I tore my car apart months ago, and cant remember which way it goes back together....
does the wiring and strap go between the block and hex head on the stud, or betweeen the hex head on the stud and another nut???
