benefits from MAF to speed density swap?

I bought an 89 formula 350 and the previous owner had swapped the MAF to speed density. I was just wondering what sort of hp/torque gains come from a swap like this as I don't know anyone else who has done it. Thanks

There really isnt a horsepower gain associated with this, but I've seen anywhere from -5 to +5 horsepower. The biggest reason is to eliminate the MAF sensor, as its small size becomes a restriction in the intake after 350 HP or so. The second reason is because the 7730 SD computer is much easier to tune and has many more parameters to tune.
