Modified the spider (lifter hold-down)

Transmission: 700r4, 2200-2400 stall, vette servo
Axle/Gears: stock pegleg 2.73 drum (temp)
Modified the spider (lifter hold-down)



put a few holes in the damn thing so that oil will drain out of it better. nothing special, just figured an old design could use an improvement.

Hmmmm. I wonder if the "oil trap" was to help keep the spider cooler. Just wondering as the metal does flex.

if anything it would keep the oil warmer, because there wouldn't be as much flow through it. That metal is basically spring material, it flexes a hell of a lot. I doubt any kind of cooling is going to affect it much
