Possible VATS problem
I have a small electrical problem. It’s intermittent. Most of the time my car starts really nice. It has a lot of new components like alternator, starter&selinoid. It also has a new passkey module because of the column and key replasement. What happens is I will try to start the car and the starter dose nothing. No click of the solenoid or anything. Every thing else is fine. Power to everything like lights, raido, door buzer, all dash components. At first I thought it was the starter components but after 2 replacements I have ruled that out. Also if I wait about 5 minutes after first trying to start it, it kicks right over. Nice and strong, as if there was no problem at all. Some were I read about a common VATS problem similar to this one .Any suggestions?

Definitely sounds like the VATS module. They have a timer on them. If you try to start the car without the resistor in the key, it'll lock up for I think 4 minutes or so. They resistor in the key could be worn. The key isn't cheap to replace though. I had a similar problem. It got to be more and more frequent. I also had coolant getting onto the ecm from the heater core. I don't know if it was related or not, but the ecm completely died on me.
