Could VATS by my problem
I have an 89 Camaro RS with a 5.0 auto. It started off not starting about once every two months. After about a year of that it started getting worse and now it won't start enough to call the car reliable to drive everyday. I've checked the starter and don't have signal (12+ volts) from the key but I have signal from the ignition. Now I have also jumped the starter by putting 12 volts from the battery straight to the starter. The engine cranked over but the fuel pump didn't activate nor did the injectors try to pulse, so that leads me to believe the secuitry system might be my problem. I installed resistors that match the key in the wires to bypass the key altogether. But still having the problem. Can anyone help? Any ideas what so ever I'm lost. Thank for your time.

Your oil pressure sender may be bad. If your computer doesn't see oil pressure It won't send a signal to activate the fuel pump. Or maybe the fuel pump relay is bad. Or your fuel pump is bad. I may be wrong but it's a suggestion.
