Surging problem.
Surging problem.
If any of you can figure this one out, I would be REALLY grateful!
I have a 1982 Camaro with a new 350 GM crate 5.7 liter, carbureted, with the timing around 12 before top dead center (although I set it without disconnecting the vaccum advance as I don't know where it is to disconnect it). The problem is this:
You drive the car around town not going above 55 and all is fine......then you take it on the freeway and while you are accelerating up to 65-75 miles an hour all is still fine.......but when you let off the throttle a little and even out at 65-75, the car surges quite badly. If you start to accelerate again, it smoothes out until you level off. What could be causing this? Is it an air/fuel delivery problem, timing, carburetor set funky? I have no idea what it is. The car is absolutley great otherwise.
If any of you out there have an idea, I'd love to hear it!
Thanks,
James.
