to time or not to time
to time or not to time
My 1988 firebird had been hit in the front end some years and the body shop replaced the front clip and the hood. When these items were replaced the shop didn`t reapply the tag that has the EGR system and ignition timing values. At this point I am timing it by the seat of my pants, but I would like to know the proper timing numbers. I have tried my local GM dealer, with no success. I also have tried a U.S based site with limited success, they want you to buy the replacement tag, ( the numbers are on it ). Is there anyone out there that can give me the right numbers for timing. The engine is an "E" code 5.0l with a TBI and a 5 speed. TXS

crank it up to 12 and run only 93 or higher octane, other wise it may diesel. you migh be able to squeeze a few more degrees but you'l loose performance faster
