what would cause this noise?

When going down the road generally starting around 40 or so MPH there is a loud vibration/hum coming from what i think is the drivers side front tire. the faster i go the louder it gets. Also i can push the clutch in and take the car out of gear the sound is still there. Im pretty sure its coming from around the tire because if i would like shift ihard into the right lane on the highway the sound lessens untill i straighten back up. Could be because im taking weight off the tire.
Maybe the wheel bearings?
And thoughts suggestions are greatly apreciated
thanks.

Yea, sounds like it could possibly be a wheel bearing. Get it in the air and see if you can move the wheel. Grab the top and bottom of the wheel and see if you can move it in and out .. if so .. wheel bearing.

wheel bearing or maybe the tire is unbalanced? A new set of tires and a fresh balance can do WONDERS for vibrations.

New set of tires = $400
New wheel bearing = $10.

Start with the wheel bearing.
