Are you sure it's the starter? By that I mean is the battery fully charged? Have you checked your wiring from the battery to the starter to makes sure its tight. I had the same thing happen to me and I thought it was the starter turned out to be a bad battery. Try swith to a good charged battery and see what happens.

Did they test the remanufactured unit when you returned it? You may have a bad starter relay as well. Did you try to jump the starter?

You should test to make sure you are getting voltage to the starter when the key is in the crank position. If you are getting power to the starter from the key, and you are getting power from the battery, try tapping the starter with a hammer while the key is in the crank position. It could also be a ground problem.

I had a similar problem with my Z28. Starters don't like heat, really it's the soloenoid (might be why it's ok if it sits 10 minutes). My problem was the starter was too close to the headers. I got a set of Jet-Hot coated headers and it's been fine ever since. Since you have a V6, I'm not sure how close the starter is to the exhaust manifold or headers, depending on what you're running. You could get a remote soleniod, or maybe a starter heat shield. As said elsewhere in this post, check all the wiring, make sure you're getting voltage at the starter when cranking. Check the easy and cheap stuff first!
