roller lifter question

I think I understand the differences between a solid roller lifter and a hydraulic roller lifter. Is there a difference between the roller cams? Are some roller cams only for solid roller lifters and some only for hydraulic roller lifters?

the cams meant for hydraulic rollers are slightly more tame. Err, I guess just not as aggressive I should say, still pretty aggressive. I'm pretty sure you can throw solid lifters on it, and it'll just have a bit higher redline, due to no lifter pump up.

A cam meant for solid lifters I don't think you can use roller lifters on. Might break the lifters.

hmm, actually, i'm losing confidence in my statements here, can anyone confirm/deny this? I'm thinking about it, and it just doesn't seem right...
