Fan not turning on

Hey guys, my bro has a 92 RS with the l03 tbi. Well our problem is the fan will no longer turn on. It has one single fan. Checked all the conections and they seem fine. Checked the fuse and that was good also. I read during a search that your fan is supposed to come on if you turn the ac on, is that true? When I took it for a drive I turned the ac on but no fan. Im thinking it could be the fan switch or maybe the relay?

Dud fan switch or faulty fan relay. Ground the wire to the fan switch and if the fan comes on, then its a faulty fan switch.

Well, we grounded the cooling fan temp. switch, and heard a clicking sound coming from the relay switch on the firewall. We unplugged the relay and it looked like terminal A was a little burnt or golden. Could we have burnt it while we were grounding the fan switch?

No - the switch grounds that circuit normally anyway. I'd change the relay and go from there.....

I went through this on my RS awhile back, sometimes the fan would work and sometimes not, ended up being the fan motor bearings were going out and it would lock up sometimes, I got a new motor for about $30 at O'Reilly's. So make sure the fan turns smoothly before you start tracking other stuff down.

It was the fan motor. Tested the fan switch and relays and they were all good. So I decided to power the motor straight from the battery and nothing happened. Got the replacement and all is good.
