'83 305

im looking into getting a 1983 z28, 305, 5-speed. my question is, what kinda hp/tq are these motors putting out? and what do they run in a 1/4 mile? thanks for ur time.

its it the High output motor or the standard 305? difference is about 40-50 horsepower

ok thanks. im not sure if its a HO or not, i havent gone and looked at the car yet, just drove by it, saw the outside, etc. i plan on looking at it in a week or so. which brings me to my next question... how do i tell if its a HO or not? i no the car is, well atleast says its a z28, does that make a diff at all? but by looking at it, how can i tell? sry for the stupid question, im new to camaros, thanks.

Look at the 8th character of the VIN (visible on the front of the dash on the driver's side looking through the windshield from the outside).

HO's usually had markings on the rear bumper. Z28's could have LG4's.
