LT1 throttle body in L98

LT1 throttle body in L98

I have a BBK LT1 throttle body that i need to make work with my stock sensors. I think all you need to do is enlarge the hole around the tps? and do one or two other things. If anyone has a tech article as to exactly how to do this that would be grrreat

As to how to get the sensors to work with your TPI, the best way is to just put the LT1 connectors in place of the TPI connectors for the TPS and IAC on your engine harness...

So just get new pig tails? will my computer be able to read the lt1 sensors?

I was under the impression that it was best to use the stock tps and other sensors, and that all you needed to do to the lt1 tb was enlarge a hole or two

I know that the TPS will function correctly... Perhaps someone else can verify that the LT1 IAC functions the same as ours?

Well seeing that the L98 throttle bodies are readily available from 48mm to a mono blade most people don't have a reason to adapt an LT1 throttle body and go through the hassle. That is the reason you won't get many if any replies.

what about all the people with lt1 intakes swapped on their l98?

I believe the TPI TB is direct bolt on for the LT1 intake, so people still use their stock TB

If your in luck someone who may have done it will see your post and give you the results. However the L98 throttle body is the much easier route with the cable and wiring readily available and with the l98 and LB9 already in place for the conversion.

Hey guys, I'm doing the same thing. Only cause I ordered a replacement throttle body and it does not have the Link on throttle body to mount my Pedal's cable to it. Everything else works and Mounts/bolts up.

I have 3 cables on my L98 that need to be connected to this link. 2 of which connect perfect. My gas pedal is loose cause there is no where to mount the cable for it on the throttle bodies link. I found out this is due to the throttle coming from an LT1. Is there and adapter I can get to mount my gas pedal cable? Please help.

Since the LT1 (94-up) had an electronically-controlled transmission, there is no place to attach the throttle valve cable, which is the only way the older hydraulically-controlled version of that transmission can "see" the world around it so that it knows how to control itself.

There is no "adapter" for that.

Best chance for a "conversion" is going to be Sofa's Patented Copyrighted All Rights Reserved Eeeeeeezy 2-Step Method:
  1. Sell the wrong thing you ordered, that you can't use
  2. Buy the thing you need

There!! Not so tough, eh? I guess you could look at it as, there IS an adapter, called "cash"; first you convert the thing you can't use into that, then you take that magical material that can morph into ANYTHING, and voilą! instant adaptation.

thank you I guess I have no other choice I figured it would come to that I did find out that's a throttle body is actually from 85 to an 88 older Camaro where's my 91 Cable is little bit different
