Searched still not clear

This is about carb spacers, i want to put one on my engine, but im not sure if i need a four hole or a open, im leaning toward a 1'' phenomic or how ever it is spelled. Im runing a edlebrock 600cfm carb, with edelbrock performer intake, im kindda confused on the single or dual plained intakes but im pretty sure i have a dual, (divider in the middle) well i could really use someones help on this.
Also quick tourqe converter question, I am running a stock 700-R4 i have to change out my TC and figured why go stock, im trying to find a decent TC that will wake this up a bit. Or should i just go back to stock

4 hole gives you more low end lower rpm torque

open one gives you power at higher rpm top end

why do you want a spacr so bad

what kind of rpm range do you drive in

what is your axle ratio

do you have any extra stall in the converter

you may want to save yourself trouble installing a spacer if you really dont need one

as far as getting the cables ot work its a matter of plannign and being creative and patient and good with your hands and tools and pieces of metal and such

we need details fro you

good luck

The converter is/was stock, when i droped the transmission i droped the TC and there was metal glitter in the fluid in the TC. So im going to go ahead and replace it so im was wondering what a good stall is, im not looking for draging but more like city driving, (average MPH is 40-45) my rear end gear is 2.73 stock

Number one, the Fluid in your TC doesnt STAY in your TC. The only reason you put fluid in your TC to start is for Starting pruposes. If you have Sliver Glitter in your TC you Have Silver Glitter in you Transmission. Did you pull the pan on the tranny??? Check the Flitler for Metal shavings or look at the Magnet.

TWO if you dont know WHY you need a Spacer for your Carb then you more than likely dont need one. It sounds like your Car is just a Driver and not a real power hungry Monster. Keep things simple until you do some more study. Dont get in over your head. I know alot of guys that think you use a spacer to raise the Carb up to clear your "dist" with your Air Cleaner.
