Rocker questions, which ones should i get?

Ok here's the deal. I've seen a lot of contradictory answers while doing a search.

Trickflow 195 heads
Stock centerbolt valve covers

Do i need narrow roller rockers?

Narrow only come in aluminum right? I'd rather go with steel.

Some people have claimed normal rockers will work. Is this true? with no modification to the vavle covers? I would rather not have to cut the valve covers.

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks
John

Good deal, those aren't listed as narrowbody on the summit website.

Thanks

I didn't even look for "narrow body". But, even though not listed as such, I'll bet they're no wider than any of those listed as "narrow body".

In the interest of full disclosure, I'm not running them (wish I was), but have seen several members report that they are running them under centerbolt covers.

They will fit. I ru nthose as well. Only thing you will have to modify is to rmove the baffles under the covers and also bend stright the gussets, If you do a search theres a step by step. 2 minute job if that

I have a set and I really like them. I don't know how well they fit under centerbolt valve covers though, as I use perimiter bolt valve covers.

Just a little correction Five7 - these rockers are chromoly steel, not stainless.

I've only had two problems with my rockers in the time I've used them. One, is that because the trunion on these rockers is quite a bit larger than a typical aluminum roller rocker's, you need some longer rocker studs, or you will snap the top off the stud. The reason, is that because of the larger trunion, the poly-lock cannot grab as much thread on the stud as it could with an aluminum rocker, and it snaps the top off of the stud. Longer studs solve this problem, and ARP makes a set in the 3/8" size thats roughly 1/8" longer. Works like a charm, and not expensive either.

The other is just that they are somewhat noisier than most other rockers I've heard. No real fix for it that I know of, but its not really a problem unless you don't like the noise
