factory 69-79 350 oil stick tube question

on a factory 350 in the 69-79 years can someone tell me if the end of the oil stick tube(that press fits into the engine block hole) is belled out or anything else other than the exact same diameter as the rest of the stick ?

trying to determine if the reason why this one factory tube is too small for the hole in the block of the 74 350 i have

thanks for anything

Same size all the way down, IIRC. I can find mine and check though.

it probably is as you recal it is im sure

if so then it means there was more than one size in 69-79

some of these years were smaller tube diameter

hmmm

anyone know what years were larger and what ones were smaller ??

maybe it was an engine size deal..

69-79 hmm that would be 307 327 350 400, hmmm

is it possible the 307 ones were the smallest,

that could be what this one is from, actually it could be VERY possioble that this tube( that is too small for this 74 350) is from the '68 307 in my first chevy i ever had- when i was 16- IE my 68 c-10 pickup after i blew up the original 307 2bbl and completely dismantled it- it blew the #1 rod out the side...

thanks for anything
