correct speedo gear for 3.73?

I recently went from the stock 2.73 gears to 3.73 gears and I'd like to get the speedo gear so my speedomoter reads correctly. GM claims that it costs $43.49 and the part number is 25522481. Is there an aftermarket one that costs less? where can i get it? Thanks.

do a search in the drivetrain forum, this is about the most common question asked there.
I think it's closer to a $15 gear.

You can email
don@transmissioncenter.net
and ask him, he was going to get me mine for my T-10, but he didn't have the exact right gear I needed. For the more common applications they should be able to help you out. Their site is pretty good, if you can find the one page that lists all the info. going to transmissioncenter.net won't give you squat though.
