tips on tune-up for a 5.7L 350

Hey guys, I'm fixing up my 85 camaro... while installing the exhaust, maybe I could get the right answers from you peeps about a in=depth engine tune-up. First things I know i'll need are spark plugs, 02 sensors, wires and distributor. I'm planning on pumping at LEAST 400 horses from this car, any suggestions on what brand I should get for each one of these? Are there specific ones people prefer? I'm looking for something obviously above average and performant but still made for driving regularly. I was also told that my distributor was getting old and that i should change it. Is that really necessary? Can't it be cleaned and lubricated? Other than that, oil change, tranmission fluid change, radiator flush and air filter change is quite straight forward. Is there anything I'm missing? Thanks. Any questions answered would be great

Unless the state of tune is terrible, you'll get more HP from sythetics lubes than 'performance' tune up parts. Oh, and what heads are on this soon to be 400 hp motor?
