Engine break in period / Choice of oil????????

Engine break in period / Choice of oil????????

I have a fresh roller engine in my car I have not cranked it yet. I put five quarts of mobil one synthetic in it sould I drain this out and use another oil for breakin? If so any advice on break in oil?

I usually just use a good standard oil on roller cam engines... Then after the first oil change (about 6-800 miles), go synthetic... Cheaper since you will want to change the oil at that earlier interval the first time, and you won't have to dump your expensive synthetic so soon... Dunno since you've already put it in though... Anybody else have thoughts on running synthetic from the start?? I know there will be concerns about ring seating, but I'm not sure if thats applicable anymore these days..

Run regular mineral oil for break in. Synthetic is not good for breaking in the rings, or so I am told by many an engine builder.
