Firebird = Camaro?

This is what I thought each car was equal too...

Firebird = RS

Z28 = Formula

IROC = GTA

Is this right or what? I am not sure, what the Z28 is, is it fast car, or just an option car, and where does the Trans Am fit in to all this...I am looking for a Camaro or Firebird and I'm getting screwed up on what these letters mean....

-Thanks

The Z28 is the performance model.. roughly the equivalent of the Trans Am.

You basically got it right, i'd say closer to:

Firebird = Camaro Sport coupe = Camaro = Berlinetta

Formula = ?

Trans am = Z-28 = Iroc.

The formula is usually the fast version (comparable to the trans am), but without all the toys and wheels that the trans am has, like A/C or power locks and stuff. The IROC is just a badge that the Z-28 got during certain years.

The Formula is a stripper 'all go, no show' sorta deal.. there wasn't ever really a Camaro like that.
