We pulled the tired 305 from my son's 86 Z28 and installed a Vortec 350. The engine is from a truck so I will need to get the correct oil pan/ windage tray/ pump pickup for this car. As it is now, the dipstick hits the tray when trying to insert it into the tube. Aftermarket would be ok but I need #s.

Call your local chevy dealer. The truck pan and windage tray will fit your son's 86 assuming it's a "real" late model vortec engine. or to make it simple use a 98 K2500 4x4 vin R for ordering. Or the pan can be ordered from nearly any parts store GMP02A which is a Spectra number $80. The oil pickup is Melling #155S. The truck parts fit perfectly fine.
