Question about extreme belt routing
Is it possible to do all of the following, combined ?
1) Remove the A/C (deleting it all, not using the delete pulley)
2) Remove the power steering (convert to S10 manual steering box)
3) Install a CS144 alternator where the power steering was installed ?
And use a serpentine setup for it all ?
I'm going to get rid of the A/C, and I'm thinking of giving up on the power steering, I grew up driving manual so I'm used to it, and I need a bigger alternator.
If not possible, could one convert to V belts ? And if so, how ?

You didn't say anything about the AIR pump. Usually first on the "delete" list.
Why relocate the alternator?
You can get one good for 150 amps that will fit in the stock location?
If you don't use the AIR or A/C or P/S, you could do this:
(similar to a GM engine in a forklift)

I have to keep the AIR pump, due to my location, Cali, heck my smog test is in a week or two.
Why relocate the alternator ? Because I'd like to remove the A/C completely and not just use the delete pulley, and to balance it out, the alternator would have to be moved, and also fill the empty gap left behind after the power steering will be removed.

haha yeah I agree on that one, the emission system not only costs quite a bit if you count in the effort and cost to pass smog, but it also fills out the engine compatment in a bad way
I'd like to have a low and balanced look after I do the mods, that's why

There is one company that does nothing but front accessory drive stuff. I can't remember their name, but if you order anything from JEGS their flyer always gets thrown in the box. Heavily chrome plated mounting hardware & pullies for hundreds of bizzare setups for street-rods and drag cars. Several had the alternator down low where the P/S pump goes. Maybe somebody can remember their name. It's on the tip of my tongue....

Not sure if this would work ?
Low Mount Alternator Bracket
March carries some yes, but Chevy Small Block Low Mount Alternator Bracket the price is a "little" bit too much.
However, March had this one the page:
http://www.marchperf.com/instruction...nstuctions.pdf
Maybe I could use that as instructions to make my own brackets, but if I can find some for 30 bucks or so, why not just buy them.
