Rough idle and code 44

Hey everyone! Heres another little problem with my 86 firebird. When I first start the car in the day, it stumbles and dies out in 2 seconds. Start it back up, it stumbles, then revs a bit higher, then stumbles, then it revs up...etc..does this for like 30 seconds. Followed by rough idling. And now I get the SES light on and i scanned it and I got code 44. thats oxygen sensor-running lean. I just got the car 2 weeks ago and i did a tune up and changed the oil. the car was sitting for 5 months prior me buying it. Any suggestions on getting it to run more richer? thanks.

Update... I was browsing some sites and I came along one which gave more detail to this code...
44. Oxygen sensor lean
(Poor electrical connection, open or short in circuit; defective ESC module;
defective knock sensor; defective ECM.)

Anyone had experience with this code?

Sounds like one or more fuel injectors could be plugged from the car sitting for 5 months.

ahh..should I try and pour in some fuel injector cleaner into my gas tank? Or do I have to take them out and clean them? If so, how would I clean them?

Try the in-tank fuel injector cleaners first, with a tank full of good gas. You can not (or should not?) attempt to clean the injectors yourself. The other option would be to take the car to a shop that will clean the injectors on the car with a heavy duty solvent. Cost at a shop can be pretty expensive, anywhere from $75 (on sale) to the cost of a new set of injectors.

Use a good fuel injector cleaner. I've always used BG44K, but it's pricey (~$25).
