I have a new 350 I just installed, has about 200 miles on it. Basic build, ZZ4 Cam, Flattop pistons etc...

2 times now I have adjusted the timing and after a short time the timing has gone out of wack. The first time took awhile, the second time didnt take long at all. The first time I just shrugged it off as the dist moving, and that I didnt get it tightened down all the way. The second time I know it hasnt moved.

Basically it has gone from 8deg advanced with the est plug pulled to about 10deg retarded with the est plug pulled.

I havent pulled the dist, but I am thinking that it must have chewed some teeth off the dist gear? Is that possible? The shop I had build my motor gave me a special gear to go on the end of the dist that we installed, has less than 200 miles on it. could it have gone that fast?

If its not that, what could it possibly be? I am baffled here.

If I left off any important info, just let me know. The car is bone stock save for a 350 prom and the 350.

Yeah, I ran out of time. The car is at my parents house and I only get back every couple of weeks to work on it. (200 miles away from where I live)

Just trying to get some ideas on what is really goin on...
