Building engine, and was wondering if anyone has purchased anything from Assembly Kits, rebuilt engines rebuild or install shortblocks longblocks for chevy ford 350 , it seems like a very fairly priced website... i would like to get some opinions on if i should buy this and build the engine from there or if i should go a different route? I am looking at the 383 4 bolt...

any help is greatly appriciated since i am on a fairly tight budget to build a nice performing engine.

 

That's a pretty good deal.
$1000 for a 383 cast bottom end, assembled. $1100 if it's forged pistons (wonder if the rods and crank are still re-connd stock though?)

I wouldn't put a lot of faith in the 2 bolt vs 4 bolt. If you can save $100, stick with 2 bolts. You're never going to break off the main caps.

 

its auctually unassembled... but I want to assemble it for the learning experience, the assembled ones arent available in the 383...
