Stupid question
Quick question I should have asked a long time ago so i wouldnt feel as dumb as I do now. On hose fittings and stuff like that, whats the AN mean, whats the difference between that and like 1/4 inner dia.?

That's a stupid question.
I asked that recently, search for "FAQ on fittings".
AN stands for "Army navy", which is who invented it. Basically it refers to it as having a 37* flare. AN measures stuff differently, -6, -8, etc. The number after the dash is the numerator in the fraction of /16.
So -6 is 6/16 or 3/8". etc.
The 37* flare is opposed to an SAE 45* flare. Those are fairly close though.
Those are both bass-ackwards compared to the 45* INVERTED FLARE, which is what is all over your car now.
I asked for a 45* flare fitting, thinking it would be obvious that I wanted an inverted flare fitting... When I got home I wondered "what the heck is this, and how do I use it..???"
