Question relating to IAC valve

ok today i just installed a new rotor and cap, i had new wires recently and sparkplugs and i even replaced my whole TBI unit on my vehicle. Also have a new IAC valve in and yet when it warms up it kinda sputters a bit. Not nearly as bad as it did before the whole tbi swap but noticable. Now the vehicle is a chevy truck 89 k2500 light duty 4x4 with the stock 350...yes i know this isnt a truck site but you guys have such good info. anyways how exactly is the IAC valve supposed to look when in the tbi. is it supposed to be all the way in blocking the hole that you put it in or is it supposed to have some sort of gap. is there a general rule for IAC's as i believe that this is my problem now. Everything else seems to be good and it even sounds better under the hood...but it somewhat sputters a bit and that leaves me to believe that i didnt do the IAC correct.
