3rd gen Gremlins... those bast***s
Alright ALL 3rd gen guru's, I am having several peculiar issues with my camaro that I can't seem to figure out. ANY wisdom will be appreciated on my new adventure into fixing my '91 RS this time.
1. At idle, nasty vibration noise coming fro minside the passenger side of my dash. On that flat part in front of the passenger seat. I took of the dash pad and poked around in there and everyhting looks good? Only makes noise idleing in gear, give it enough gas to gain 100 RPM and it goes away? Ideas?
2. Under acceleration, two loud clunks coming from transmission/ driveshaft tunnel. I suspect either U joints, torque arm mounts, or transmission/ crossmember mounts. How can i test to isolate the problem... it is really pissin me off to the n^th degree.
3. FI PROBLEMS!!! I have a 305 TBI with 168K on it. Never gave me ANY trouble starting, then I had my EGR replaced. Now it stalls religiously on startup and my idle is all over... sometimes it's 450RPM ahter times it 1200RPM and last I knew my IAC valve was quite alright. Unless it goes bad everytime the EGR gets replaced????
Any wisdom on any of these issues would be greatly appreciated. I am at my wits end with this car but love it to much to do anyhting about it other than put hours on end into it just hoping one day it will work

For problem #3 you might want to check for a vacuum leak at the EGR vavle and all hoses (hard and soft) that are in the area that could have been hit during replacement. If you hear a slight slight hissing sound you have a leak and must fix it. Also plugging up the vacuum lines at the source might see if it runs any better with it like that and will tell you which line need to be replaced. Sorry i havent had experience for the other problems but this problem is all too familiar...
