My car has become a serious health hazard...

I would appreciate any information I could get.

My car is a 92 Z28 5-L 5-Speed. For about the last year (yes that long) I have been coughing alot and feeling very sick, dazed, and confused. I blamed it on many things, but after almost passing out after driving my Camaro one day figured out it was the car's fault.

I thought it was carbon monoxide poisoning at first. However lately I am smelling something else, it smells toxic... Doesn't smell like oil... more like gasoline or something along those lines? I'm not sure! I know that I have to replace one of my injectors, and I have a small hole in my catalytic converter (that I just found out). But I want to make sure that this is the only problem.

As I said, I don't know how much of my brain I have lost. Lately I am getting sharp pains in the back of my head. I have gone to not driving the car for the last 2 months, and I am feeling 1000x better than I did, but I am still worried for my health as I do not feel the same, and I really would like to fix the car for next summer.

Any ideas?

Well, the hole in the cat points to the exhaust fumes. Basicly it's like sitting in a closed garage with the car running.

My cars exhaust.. yeah.. you can easily smell it in the car the whole time while driving, in fact the smell impregnates itself onto my clothes.. I havent expierenced anything like that but if I do, ill let you know.

Passenger side header is not attached to y-pipe *half an inch clearance* I dont have a heater box either so the exhaust goes straight into my venting.

Also, if you want to pinpoint it, I would suggest buying a carbon monoxide detector from a hardware store. Stick it in your car and see if the thing starts beeping like crazy.
