Anyone who's installed Ford Motorsport Blue Top injectors

I just swaped my stock 92 gta injectors this afternoon with ford motorsport 24# blue tops. They didn't have clips, so I just threw them into the fuel rail with new o-rings. When I went to put the fuel rail in, it came down as far as it would go... but the bottom of the injectors weren't seated into the base.

So I've read people have grinded down their fuel rails, but I just pushed the injectors down until they made a good seal, then pulled them up slightly so it would still seal on top. Before putting it all back together I turned the key on and didn't see or smell any fuel leaks. Have others been successful doing this also?
