engine turns, won't start help!!!!
to start with, the car ran great until about a month ago.it's a 84 305 trans am. i always check the oil. i knew that coolant was leaking out of the top of the manifold just a little. went out one day to start it and i checked oil it had coolant in it.i shut it off right then. got a kit and replaced valve cover gaskets and intake gasket. there was signs of it leaking into the block from the top. i put everything back the same way it came off. i marked the rotor, distributor but when i put it back in it wouldn't go in the same way. it moved to the left by about an inch. the car won't start. it turns over but won't start. it has new plugs, wires, distributor car, rotor cap. fuel pump is fairly new. it is putting gas into the carb. i dont have any money to put out buying special tools to check compression etc. it was spitting out gas out the top of the carb. the check engine light and choke light doesn't come on anymore now. any clues? PLEEEEASE HELP

Find TDC, take dist cap off and see where the rotor is pointing, that will be #1, check your wires, going around the cap clockwise 1=1, 2=8, and so on firing order 18436572.

any clue what the loud clicking sound is that i hear. i don't hear it when i listen to the valve covers but i hear it and feel it by the back of the manifold. the two hoses that connect to it in front of the dist. is where i hear it the most. i can hold the hoses and feel the pulse or clicking as i hear the sounds. it's VERY loud. I also hear it from the carb as it warms up. it's so loud i can't stand to be by it. the car rruns very rough and dies shortly after being put into gear.i;m starting to think something is wrong with the lifters or pushrods. i hope i haven't damaged anything too bad. any clues? could the timing chain be a problem?
